About Me and Contact Info

Hi! I'm Maddy, also known as Me4502.

I'm a Senior Software Engineer at the Clipchamp team at Microsoft, and develop the Minecraft mods WorldEdit, WorldGuard, and CraftBook in my spare time. I also enjoy contributing to numerous Open Source Software projects, and enjoy deep diving into various technologies and optimising performance. If you're looking for a more in-depth view of my contributions to the Minecraft community, it's available here! For more info about me, I did a large Q&A for the 10 year anniversary of writing articles, which you can read here!

I enjoy writing to share my various experiences and knowledge with others. A lot of my writing is Minecraft-focused, as I've spent a significant portion of my life at this point in the Minecraft community, with a general focus on best practices around running a Minecraft server or writing plugins for one. Many of my posts have evolved from questions I've repeatedly seen or answered, allowing both myself and others to easily link and reference when these questions inevitably come up again in the future. If you've got any ideas for posts that you'd like to see, let me know via the contact methods below!

I also enjoy writing about performance optimisation, JavaScript tooling, and inclusivity in tech-adjacent spaces. In general, I'm someone who always needs to have a deep understanding of how the things I use actually work, and I love using that knowledge to make things work better, and to share it with others. If you're wanting to translate any of my articles to post somewhere else, that's all good. All I'd ask is that you link back to the original post, both as attribution, but also to ensure that readers can find the latest version if changes occur after the translation.

All of my articles are written by me. I do not utilise any AI generation tools to write my articles, nor do I accept guest posts or sponsored articles. Nothing I write has a financial incentive behind it, it is all based on my own personal experiences, knowledge, and opinions. While I love getting requests for articles, the actual content of any article I write on request will be my own opinions on the topic.

I can be contacted numerous ways online, here are a few:
